APPLICATIONS

The X-ring is a continuous, seamless vulcanized ring with a special profile which is derived from four O-rings arranged in a square cross-section.

The particular advantage of the X-ring is that it cannot roll or twist. The squeeze required to maintain an effective seal is also relatively low.

The X-ring is used in mechanical and automotive engineering, preferably as a static radial or static axial seal. Other applications are for linear or rotary motion of plungers, pistons, tappets, dampers and valve, bearing and piston rods, etc.

ManoyCoat® – Anti-friction coating
ManoyCoat® coated O-rings offer special assembly and disassembly advantages due to their anti-friction properties. For automated assembly, the coating provides smooth feeding. Some of the coatings are also suitable for dynamic applications. FIND OUT MORE >

CHARACTERISTICS

  • For wide pressure and temperature ranges
  • Wide range of fluids
  • Space-saving
  • Metal-to-metal contact possible in flange seals
  • Does not roll or twist in the groove
  • Simple and effective seal solution for static and low dynamic applications
  • Also available in a PWIS-free version (free of any substances that interfere with paint wetting)

TEMPERATURE RANGE

From -60 to +200 °C

but dependent on the X-ring material in each case.
