APPLICATIONS

  • Developed for sealing of pivot pins
  • Also usable on Kaplan blades
  • Suitable for water and/or grease lubrication

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Small base cross-sections only cause slight component stress
  • Available in any diameter up to ca. 2,800 mm
  • Compensates for eccentricity
  • For retrofits the seals can be adapted to existing installation dimensions
  • Anti-twist design (types 451, 456) prevents unwanted relative seal motion and therefore premature failure

TEMPERATURE RANGE

From ‑20 to +200 °C

Pivot pins are found on shut-off devices such as spherical valves, butterfly valves, hollow jet valves and plunger valves. These valves are generally used for opening and closing and occasionally to control the flow rates by oscillating movement.

The grease-lubricated sliding bearing is protected against water infiltration by a seal on the inside. The seal also prevents the grease leaking into the inside to prevent water contamination. The MANOY® system seal WP, type 418, was developed for this application.

To prevent leakage of grease from greased bearings, the unidirectional MANOY® system seal WP, type 456, is also installed.
