APPLICATIONS

  • Developed for use on the sliding ring
  • Also suitable for expansion joints

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Small base cross-sections cause only slight component stress
  • Expansion and deformation under pressure can be equalized
  • Optimum efficiency due to low frictional force and sealing profile divided into functional areas
  • Long life due to outstanding wear resistance
  • For retrofits these seals can be adapted to the installation dimensions
  • Available in any diameter

TEMPERATURE RANGE

From ‑20 to +200 °C

but dependent on the sealing ring material and the O‑ring material in each case.

Spherical valves are installed upstream of the turbine as shut-off devices specifically for high pressures at the end of the penstock. Their main function is to close off the penstock during normal shutdown or load shedding of the turbine.

The seal is a metal sliding ring which is generally moved by water hydraulics.

The MANOY® system seal WP, type 434 (outer sealing) and the inner sealing type 439, were developed for sealing of the sliding ring.

The profile dimensions can be customized for maintenance or specific requirements.
