APPLICATIONS

  • Deve­lo­ped for sealing of the expan­si­on joint 
  • Also sui­ta­ble for use in sli­ding ring seals if a sepa­ra­te seal is fit­ted for each pres­su­re direc­tion

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Radi­al adap­ta­bi­li­ty com­pen­sa­tes for off­set and misa­lign­ment
  • Small base cross-sec­tions cau­se only slight com­po­nent stress
  • Easy to hand­le due to robust con­struc­tion 
  • For retro­fits the seals can be adap­ted to the exis­ting instal­la­ti­on dimen­si­ons

Pen­stocks are used to dischar­ge the head­wa­ter from a reser­voir. Due to ther­mal and dyna­mic effec­ts on the pipe­lines which are usual­ly run under­ground in the moun­tain, com­pen­sa­ti­on for expan­si­on is necessa­ry.

By fit­ting an expan­si­on joint, slow creep move­ments, eccentri­ci­ty, dila­ti­on and also pipe misa­lign­ment can be reli­ab­ly absor­bed.

The MANOY® sys­tem seal WP, type 436, was spe­ci­al­ly deve­lo­ped for leaka­ge-free ope­ra­ti­on of an expan­si­on joint.
