APPLICATIONS

  • Developed for sealing of the expansion joint
  • Also suitable for use in sliding ring seals if a separate seal is fitted for each pressure direction

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Radial adaptability compensates for offset and misalignment
  • Small base cross-sections cause only slight component stress
  • Easy to handle due to robust construction
  • For retrofits the seals can be adapted to the existing installation dimensions
  • Available in any diameter

TEMPERATURE RANGE

From -20 to +100 °C

but dependent on the sealing ring material in each case.

MATERIALS

Penstocks are used to discharge the headwater from a reservoir. Due to thermal and dynamic effects on the pipelines which are usually run underground in the mountain, compensation for expansion is necessary.

By fitting an expansion joint, slow creep movements, eccentricity, dilation and also pipe misalignment can be reliably absorbed.

The MANOY® system seal WP, type 436, was specially developed for leakage-free operation of an expansion joint.
