APPLICATIONS

  • Spe­cially developed for use with Pelton nozzles or servo motors 
  • Also suit­able for use in slid­ing ring seals if a sep­ar­ate seal is fit­ted for each pres­sure direction 
  • Trouble-free response char­ac­ter­ist­ics give pre­cise nozzle valve controllability
  • Uni­ver­sally usable for water and oil hydraulics

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Min­im­um wear for very long ser­vice intervals 
  • For ret­ro­fits these seals can be adap­ted to the install­a­tion dimensions 
  • Avail­able in any dia­met­er up to ca. 2,500 mm
  • Stable scrap­ing effect and high abra­sion res­ist­ance give optim­um oper­a­tion­al reli­ab­il­ity if there is a high abras­ive particle con­tent and risk of cavitation
  • Pres­sure-relieved scraper lip min­im­izes the fric­tion­al force to guar­an­tee good response characteristics

TEMPERATURE RANGE

From -20 to +200 °C

but depend­ent on the seal­ing ring mater­i­al and the O-ring mater­i­al in each case.

Pelton tur­bines are used in hydro­power plants with a high head. The seal­ing sys­tem spe­cific­a­tions are equally high.

Con­trol of the tur­bine out­put is infin­itely vari­able from part to full load by adjust­ing the nozzle spear valve.

The con­trol unit for lin­ear adjust­ment of the jet needle can be pro­tec­ted against water and silt infilt­ra­tion by the MANOY® sys­tem seal WP.

Types 466 and 486 (both inner seal­ing) were spe­cially developed for these applic­a­tions. Types 461 and 481 are for out­er seal­ing con­fig­ur­a­tions. In the con­text of design, types 481 and 486 must have a split housing.

All ver­sions can be sup­plied with cus­tom­ized pro­file dimen­sions for exist­ing groove designs.
